This week we review Seaspiracy, the Netflix original documentary examining the impact of industrial aquatic animal exploitation. Somewhat of a spiritual sequel to Cowspiracy, this film has been making waves online, becoming the #4 film on Netflix over the past weekend and earning reviews in Vogue and the New York Times. We’ll give our spoiler-free general thoughts on the film before diving into a spoiler-full analysis of the film’s content and themes.
Seaspiracy is currently available via Netflix. Content warnings for the film include non-human animal harm, exploitation, and death, as well as human slavery and on screen human murder.
