This week Paul and Andy discuss PETA’s call to remove “fur” from the plastic figurines in the Warhammer 40,000 game and then move on to follow up from their discussion about Trump and Animal Rights Advocates’ changing roles and tactics in this new political world by asking the question: “how should we frame the importance of veganism to nonvegans?” Additionally, they go over their favorite finds at vegan pop up shops in Brooklyn and New Jersey.

Hey guys! New, but big fan here! I find that there is a slippery slope when it comes to the argument against wearing faux fur. If the argument is that someone might like the style and go on to purchase real fur, then couldn’t the same apply to vegan alternatives to certain foods? If a non vegan sees a vegan eating vegan ice cream and goes onto purchase a non vegan ice cream. Or if a non-vegan sees a vegan eating some mock meat and that mock meat reminded the non-vegan about real meat and they go on to purchase and eat some meat. I just think some things are way out of our control, this being one of them. Thoughts?
Hi Gerald,
I completely agree with you! If anything, faux fur/leather shows that you can get the same look without torturing animals. Just as food, like you mentioned.
