I love the podcast 🙂 I’ve been following almost from the beginning and I’ve always wanted to say it but I get anxious and awkward, so…
Yeah um more on the topic though! I don’t mean to sound like a super strict fundamentalist or anything… but I feel like eating road kill —even when there are other things to eat— is still objectifying these animals who were in a very unfortunate man-made accident. The ‘damage is already done’ thing just opens up door for everything else. Why not eat non vegan foods left at the end of an event, or when people already prepared certain amount of food at a family gathering? The ‘damage’ on the surface is already done in these cases too. What I feel is also a damage is the normalization of exploiting, using, objectifying animals. Especially in this non vegan world where it is very easy to make people misunderstand veganism I think this point holds more value… And if it really is about the small animals dying in the process of plant food production, why just road kills? There are dead bodies of all kinds of animals that will be easier to find, just not considered ‘edible’.
I’m very bad at being persuasive XD but I just wanted to put that out there…
