Thanks for the shoutout Andy! I actually don’t completely disagree with the article you quoted about the “meat-heavy” diet of northern Italy. There is incredible regional variety in Italian cuisine, and the north is definitely a lot more meat-heavy than the south. I think that probably helps explain why the vegan movement per se seems to be growing more in the north. There’s not much reason for people in the south to fight against what is already a pretty healthy, largely plant-based tradition.
