This week we are so pleased to finally bring you the much requested, and long awaited, BUG EPISODE! That’s right, we are asking if insects should be included in our sphere of moral concern and if so, what are the implications for our daily actions and our activism?
This week The Bearded Vegans are so pleased to bring you their recent podcast collaboration with Vegan Warrior Princesses Attack! recorded live at Chicago Veganmania. This time, they took the opportunity to engage with their live audience for an extensive Question and Answer session. Two main discussion topics include how to deal with non-vegan holiday gatherings, whether or not we are obligated to shop up and be the vegan in the room, and a new video that asserts avocados, and most other crops pollinated by bees, are not suitable for vegans. They had a lot of fun with this one, enjoy!
This week bring you part two of a conversation that could fall under the category of “should take advantage of platforms offered up by those with which we are at fundamental ethical odds?” to ask the question, should vegans advocate to conservatives? Yes, we know that there are many conservative vegans. Yes, we want a vegan world, which means that many people we disagree with must become vegan. What we aim to get at in this conversation is whether, as a movement, targeting conservatives specifically is a worthwhile use of our time and effort.
This week Paul and Andy sink their teeth into some cheesy vegan business. After a potentially misleading and inflammatory headlined stated that beloved vegan brand Miyoko’s was set to “partner” with Nestle, one of the most notoriously vile and corrupt corporations, the internet erupted! They’ll try to get to the bottom of what this partnership actually means, if it matters, and what implications it has for vegan businesses in the future.
This week The Bearded Vegans bring you another news roundup as they engage in several extended discussions involving various news stories that have recently caught their attention. They’ll discuss a horse attempting to sue their abuser, the “factory farm detox”, the new terminology for lab grown meat and much much more!
This week week, the Bearded Boys tackle “veganish”, the phrase that has been blowing up the internet! Will it reduce vegan infighting? Is it good for the animals? And most importantly, what does it even mean? They’ll try to find some answers! Plus, they go over the news and discuss the devastation caused by Hurricane Florence and ways to help out.
It’s time to dig around in the ol mailbag and pull out some listener questions to answer! How do we respond to the “morality is subjective” anti-vegan argument? Should we support Vegfests that won’t explicitly label themselves vegan? Do we ever get burnt out on talking about veganism? All that and much much more!
This week Paul and Andy do an in depth review of The End Of Meat, a brand new documentary promising to examine the social, environmental and ethical ramifications of a world without animal exploitation. They’ll talk about whether or not it lives up to the promise of it’s title and how it stacks up to the increasingly crowded vegan documentary field.
Plus they go over the news and discuss a recent op-ed that states “If you want to save the world, veganism isn’t the answer”
A high profile vegan activist has written a new definition of veganism that requires one to engage in activism in order to claim the title of vegan. The Bearded Vegans talk about the implications this new definition has for existing vegans as well as potential vegans. How much activism is enough? How do we even define veganism? They’ll do their best to get down to the nitty gritty on this one!
This week the bearded brothers are pleased to bring you an interview with Chris Cooney, the mastermind behind The Vegan Zombie. They talk about his transition from FBI investigator to post zombie apocalypse cooking show sensation, what it’s like to go from behind the scenes to in front of the camera and the evolution of the channel. Most importantly, they talk all about his latest project, A44, a full blown real deal vegan zombie film, the first of it’s kind!
Plus, the bearded vegans cover all the meat related news that you can handle and rave about a lemony confection from Taylor Street Sweets.
