Still catching up on the last 2 months of podcast.. but wondering if you have any opinion on the Standing Rock conflict. It’s a bit off topic, but I’m curious about a few things: (1) Why is there not a larger intersection between environmental movements and veganism? (2) Related: same for indigenous rights movements and all advocates of oppressed groups? (3) Is there a place for vegan activism in the midst of such a dire situation as the NoDAPL movement? [Side note: a friend of mine went in September to bear witness and help out, and she said at that time the camp was offering a vegan option at each meal.] (4) Is is correct or respectful to talk about vegan issues in the context of a persecuted culture that relies heavily on animal products for religion, survival, etc.? And if so, what’s the proper way to approach that?
